The hot-well module is suitable for steam condensate systems on various types of vessels equipped with boilers—fuel-fired boilers, waste-heat boilers, or combined fuel-and-waste-heat boilers—having a capacity in the range of 900 to 2,500 kg/h.
I. Structural Features
This module integrates the hot well, atmospheric condenser, boiler feedwater pump, and the associated piping and accessories into a single unit supported by a frame or common base, featuring a compact structure and convenient operation. The module is self-contained and undergoes sealing and operational testing prior to shipment. Upon installation on board, its interfaces are connected to the corresponding sections of the steam condensate system, facilitating easy commissioning and operation. All external connections can be arranged in accordance with the vessel’s compartment layout requirements, ensuring straightforward interfacing.
II. Operating Principle
This module is a component of the closed-loop steam condensate circulation system. It collects excess steam generated by the boiler and the condensate produced after the steam has released heat in various steam-consuming equipment, cools the condensate in an atmospheric condenser, and then directs it to the hot well. Within the hot well, the hot water is filtered to remove oil and sewage, and subsequently pressurized by the boiler feedwater pump before being returned to the boiler, thereby completing the system’s heat exchange function.
